It’s Official: New Rayfin Subsea Camera Software Features Are Here

You might already know that the Rayfin is the most versatile subsea camera on the market, but as experts in the industry we’re committed to finding ways we can make it even better. We’ve been hard at work these past few months adding new features and user-requested improvements to our Rayfin camera.

Your Data In One Place

Time-synchronized data routing has been added so that you can send multiple data sources, like GPS and other NMEA sensor sources, to your Rayfin from topside. This new feature makes your post-processing time easier and faster because you can store all of your data in one place.

Faster, Easier, Better

You asked and we listened.  Below are user-requested improvements:

Camera Discovery

One of our most common requests was for the Rayfin camera to have a faster discovery on your network. We made it happen.

Flexible Aspect Ratio

The default aspect ratio of 4:3 is now complimented by a 16:9 option. While 4:3 allows for a wider field of view overall, 16:9 can be preferred when viewing live video.

PC Time Sync

With a touch of a single button, you can now set the local camera system time, making the set-up of the Rayfin even smoother.

Simplified Scripting

The Rayfin’s built-in scripts are more intuitive than ever, allowing your camera to operate autonomously in a variety of circumstances with multiple commands.

More Control

Now see your sensor data from further away. Use the control software to enlarge your altimeter, depth, tilt and roll. You can also increase the size of your sensor readout.

Improved Video Interface

Control and operate your camera with our improved video interface that’s easier to understand and use.

Support for New Skate Mk2 Laser

Whether you need a line, grid or other pattern of laser reference, we have you covered. The Skate Mk2 Laser is now compatible with the Rayfin.

Already Powerful Features

These updates compliment the already powerful features of the Rayfin camera. Whether you’re looking for a camera that can operate at benthic or coastal depths, both are modular in design. This means you can incorporate our LEDs and lasers into a single system to gather your data.

What’s Next?

We’ll continue to develop new features and improvements that will help our customers with their subsea projects, such as more flexible aspect ratio options. We’re always interested in feedback, so reach out with your thoughts.

You can also expect our newest innovation, the Tow Camera System, to launch soon. Stay tuned!
